The Milgram Obedience Experiment

Stanley Milgram · 1961

⚡
⚡Yale University · 1961

You are the Teacher.

You've been recruited for a "learning and memory study." In another room, a learner is strapped to a chair with electrodes. Every time they answer incorrectly, you must administer an electric shock.

🎓

You are at Yale. The experimenter is an authority figure in a grey lab coat.

🔊

You can hear the learner through a speaker — their screams are real (pre-recorded).

⬆️

Each wrong answer increases the voltage. Starting at 15V. Maximum: 450V.

🧠

At any point you can refuse. The experimenter will pressure you to continue.

⚠️ Content note

This simulation is educational. No real shocks are administered. The distress portrayed reflects the actual experiment recordings.
